BSL23C Tops Category at Lightfair

Bodine’s BSL23C Emergency LED Driver won the Industrial, Vandal, Exit and Emergency Lighting Category at Lightfair 2008. This is the second consecutive win for Bodine in this category. The company’s Arctic™ 175 ARC Keeper® HID Backup Ballast was the 2007 category winner, as well as the recipient of Lightfair’s highest award, Most Innovative Product of the Year.

The BSL23C works in conjunction with the existing LED driver to convert a luminaire into emergency lighting. The unit operates an LED load up to 3.1 W at full rated current (200 mA) during loss of normal AC power. It supports emergency lighting for a minimum of 90 minutes, in accordance with code. The BSL23C is UL Listed for factory or field installation and is ideal for downlight applications.

Propelled by advances in technology, solid-state lighting systems constitute a growing segment of the lighting market. As with other types of lighting, solid-state must meet life safety code requirements for emergency illumination. Bodine’s BSL23C allows SSL fixtures to meet or exceed code.
